Former Kaduna State Deputy Governor Is Dead
Former Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Barnabas Yusuf Bala Bantex, is dead.
Naija News reports that this was made known in a statement on Sunday by Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
Bala, a top chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), served as deputy to El-Rufai in his first term between 2015-2019.
Former Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Barnabas Yusuf Bala Bantex, is dead.
Naija News reports that this was made known in a statement on Sunday by Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Olanrewaju Abdulganiyu Fasasi, also known as Sound Sultan, has died of throat cancer.
Naija News earlier reported that a statement on Sunday signed by his brother, Kayode Fasasi, on behalf of the family said that the singer died at the age of 44.
He lost the battle to throat cancer in the USA.
12 things to know about Sound Sultan:
1. Sound Sultan was born Olanrewaju Fasasi on November 27, 1976.
2. He was a rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, comedian and recording artist regarded as one of the pacesetters of modern hip hop music in Nigeria.
3. He released his first single “Jagbajantis” in 2000, which was a hit in Nigeria after independently releasing other singles and featuring in hit songs of other artists
4. He was signed under Kennis Music, where he released four albums.
5. His contract with Kennis Music expired in 2007, after which he partnered with Baba Dee to start Naija Ninjas, a parent organisation for a record label, production outfit and clothing line.
6. Under Naija Ninjas, he released Back from the Future (2010) and signed artists such as Karma Da Rapper, Young GreyC, Shawn and Black.
7. Sound Sultan began a working relationship with Wyclef Jean, featuring alongside 2face Idibia and Faze on “Proud to be African” from Wyclef’s welcome to Haiti: Creole 101 album. They have collaborated on two other projects: “King of My Country” (2009) and “People Bad” (2012).
8. In 2009, Sound Sultan married his long-term girlfriend Chichi Morah, now known as Farida Fasasi from Igbo ethnic group.
9. The couple has three children.
10. In 2012, he was made a UN Ambassador for Peace for his exemplary lifestyle and career.
11. In 2015, Sound Sultan released the rap single “Remember” after a long absence from the music scene.

Biafra: Ohanaeze Pledges Support For Nnamdi Kanu, Raises Legal Team
The apex Igbo organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has pledged its support for the arrested leader of the Indigenous Peoples Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The group made this known in a communique issued after the meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC) held on Saturday in Enugu and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia.
Ohanaeze also raised a legal team led by the National Legal Adviser of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide and eminent Igbo leaders to monitor Kanu’s trial.
The group, however, asked the Federal Government to try Kanu within the ambit of the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and in line with global best practices.
Nnamdi Kanu Built Cult Of Gangsters, Makes A Lot Of Noise – IPOB ‘Founder’
The self-acclaimed founder of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Emeka Emekesiri, has again accused Nnamdi Kanu of hijacking IPOB from him and the originators of the group.
Speaking in a broadcast, Emekesiri stated that the arrested pro-Biafra activist built a “cult of gangsters.”
The self-acclaimed IPOB founder, who stated that he had made submissions for the actualization of Biafra before the National Assembly and court, stated that Nnamdi Kanu was not speaking for people of the Southeast.
Nnamdi Kanu Will Be Granted Bail, Won’t Die In Prison – Primate Ayodele
The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has stated that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, will not die in detention.
Recall that Nnamdi Kanu was reportedly rearrested in Kenya and extradited back to Nigeria on the 27th of June, 2021.
Speaking in his church on Saturday, Primate Ayodele stated that the IPOB leader would eventually be granted bail again.
